Valuable works

From engagement to active collecting: As early as the 1920s, the insurance company promoted artists and supported the art scene. Its interest in having its own art collection was soon aroused, and today the Group owns many works that cover a wide spectrum from the 19th century through to current developments in contemporary art. The Group’s collections include those of Wiener Städtische, Wiener Städtische Versicherungsverein, Donau Versicherung, the Czech VIG insurance company Kooperativa and those of the Serbian Wiener Städtische Osiguranje.

Works from the extensive art collection circulate as sought-after loans in international museums such as the Tate Gallery in London or the Guggenheim in New York and Bilbao.

In 2024 the exhibition UNKNOWN FAMILIARS - The Vienna Insurance Group Collections was shown at the Leopold Museum in Vienna.
