Vienna Insurance Group (VIG) actively pursues a comprehensive diversity strategy. Two of the top women managers in the Group recently received major awards for their performance in 2019.

Manager of the year in Bulgaria
Svetla Nestorova, CEO of the Bulgarian VIG Group company Bulstrad Life, received the manager of the year award for 2019 from the Bulgarian Manager magazine. She is the first representative of an insurance company and the second woman to receive the award during its 12-year history. The award was granted for outstanding performance in the senior management area in Bulgaria. Bulgarian President Rumen Radev personally presented the award to Svetla Nestorova. Deloitte Bulgaria performed the evaluation using the three categories of financial indicators, good management practice and personal characteristics.

Sabina Mujanović, CEO of Vienna osiguranje in Bosnia-Herzegovina, also received a prestigious award. The British financial magazine Finance Central Europe, which specialises in the financial market in Central and Southern Europe, chose Sabina Mujanović to receive the award for best director of an insurance company in 2019 in Bosnia-Herzegovina. Sabina Mujanović has 20 years of experience in the financial sector and 16 years of management experience in the banking and insurance sector. She is president of the Assembly of the Association of Insurance Companies in the Federation of Bosnia-Herzegovina and was honoured for her contribution to development of the insurance industry in the country.

Women power in VIG

The head of Vienna Insurance Group, CEO Elisabeth Stadler, is a woman, as is its Chief Financial Officer (CFO), Liane Hirner. 25% of the members of the Managing Boards in the Group are women. VIG Group companies in Austria, Bulgaria, Bosnia-Herzegovina, Estonia, Croatia, Poland, Slovakia and Hungary are managed by women as chief executives. The percentage of women at the second management level is even close to 50%. 40% of the members of the Vienna Insurance Group Supervisory Board are women.

Elisabeth Stadler, CEO of Vienna Insurance Group, congratulated the two award winners: “I am very pleased about the awards recently received by these two competent managers. The awards stand as a testimony to the outstanding performance provided by the women in our Group. We are firmly convinced that broad diversity in many areas of a company also contributes to economic success. We are therefore pursuing a clear diversity strategy focussed on the criteria of gender, internationality and generations, and are further strengthening and developing measures for this purpose.”
