New main office for Kooperativa and ČPP
"Best Office Building" award at the MIPIM international real estate fair
The new main office of the two Czech Vienna Insurance Group companies Kooperativa and ČPP won a prize at the MIPIM Awards, held at the international real estate fair in Cannes. It was designated "Best Office Building 2011".
The "Main Point Karlín" project was a clear winner in its category, defeating 100 entries from 47 countries. This was not only on account of its extraordinary architecture, but primarily because of its eco-friendly attributes. The building has a distinctive appearance thanks to its colourful design. Designed by the renowned Czech architects, DaM, it has an optimal lighting system and a modern, environmentally friendly cooling system which uses the water of the nearby River Vltava. This sustainable building design will be submitted for certification to the U.S. Green Building Council LEED (Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design), which certifies that high standards of environmentally friendly, resource-efficient and sustainable building have been fulfilled.

Its considerable growth in recent years also meant that we needed a future-orientated and sustainable solution with more space. I am glad that our colleagues at Kooperativa and ČPP will soon be moving into the new main office in Prague. It was very important to all of us that the new design should use modern, environmentally friendly technology of the highest standard," says Günter Geyer, CEO of the Vienna Insurance Group.
Building facts
The building will provide a modern and attractive workplace for approximately 1,200 employees of the Czech Group companies, Kooperativa and Česká podnikatelská pojišt'ovna (ČPP). Located in the Karlín district of Prague, it will also be easy to reach by underground train.
