VIG Board member Liane Hirner re-elected to EIOPA Insurance and Reinsurance Stakeholder Group
Liane Hirner, member of the Managing Board and CFRO of Vienna Insurance Group (VIG), was elected for another four-year term to the Insurance and Reinsurance Stakeholder Group (IRSG) of the European Insurance and Occupational Pensions Authority (EIOPA). In this function she will contribute to the further development of the regulatory environment.
Liane Hirner remains the only Austrian representative of the 30-member committee. As an industry member, she represents the insurance industry in participating in EIOPA decisions on planned regulations and measures on insurance issues.
I am delighted to have been re-elected and will continue to work to ensure that future EU requirements are formulated in a pragmatic and market-orientated manner.
EIOPA consults its stakeholder groups on actions concerning regulatory technical standards and their implementation as well as guidelines and recommendations as long as these do not concern individual insurers.
