We all experience the world in different ways, we have different identities and we come from different communities. And that's what diversity is all about. It's about respecting, acknowledging, celebrating and promoting these differences. And that, of course, is what we do.
A changing world of work
Together for a successful future
The insurance industry and the world of work in general are undergoing major changes. Various external factors and regulation in the financial sector have a strong influence on our work. It seems that no stone is left unturned. And other things are constant: the need to be valued and to enjoy working together. Liane Hirner and Gabor Lehel from the VIG Managing Board agree: "Only together can we successfully shape the future!"
Everyone is different, but everyone is equally welcome
A group with over 30,000 employees and around 50 insurance companies and pension funds in 30 countries is naturally very diverse. But that's not the only thing that sets us apart. Our employees come in all shapes and sizes, representing many different nationalities and backgrounds, sexual orientations and identities, cultures and religions, experiences and expectations, qualifications and ideas. And let's not forget: different hair colours and shoe sizes. We see diversity as our strength and welcome everyone who loves diversity as much as we do.

Several VIG and Wiener Städtische employees are shown individually outdoors. They smile, clap and interact with the camera in a friendly manner. These people represent the diversity among the employees through different origins, ages, genders and physical abilities. The messages are faded in: Be authentic, be yourself, be part of our diversity.
The appreciative handling of diversity has been part of our corporate culture for a long time and is even anchored as a value in our mission statement. I like to drive the topic forward at VIG, because it simply makes a difference for people. They feel seen, experience appreciation and understand what VIG stands for.
