Nowadays, IT is central to any business strategy and is therefore also an integral factor determining business success. As the IT backbone of VIG, we are an essential driver within our organisation, focused on coordinating the digital landscape of the entire Group in line with our business strategy while ensuring the highest security standards and keeping pace with regulatory developments as one Group. Our team creates sustainable solutions that drive the organisation forward and add a clear value to the Group.
Core tasks:
- Group-wide coordination: as the hub for IT, we ensure proven best practices and leverage synergies across business boundaries.
- Innovative Solutions: Our team develops innovative IT solutions that drive VIG forward and create sustainable value.
- Strategic consulting: we provide comprehensive IT consulting and support for all divisions and companies to seamlessly integrate technology into our business processes.
- Security first: our experts work relentlessly to ensure the highest IT security standards in order to protect our systems and data.
- IT compliance: we manage group-wide regulatory requirements affecting IT in a professional manner.
- Technology: we provide applications for the Group.
Daily Business:
- We work closely with VIG Group subsidiaries all over Europe to ensure cooperation on a collaborative, group-wide basis
- We realise national and international IT projects and facilitate the achievement of business objectives
- We continuously develop, evaluate and optimize IT processes in line with regulatory developments and security standards
- We develop and upgrade competencies and communities across Europe
- We create platforms for knowledge exchange in the field of IT

Key Qualifications

Passion for IT and excellent data handling skills
Enjoy dealing with stakeholders from different backgrounds, countries and cultures
Very good project management skills and organisational talent
Analytical, structured and integrative thinking
Commitment and solution-oriented approach, as well as good comprehension, communication and teamwork skills
Team and customer-oriented thinking and acting
Sound proficiency in German and English, CEE/SEE language skills would be an advantage
Experience from the insurance sector would be an advantage

After various software development projects in international consulting companies, I started at VIG in early 2010 as a system architect in one of our IT departments. My next step was to lead the system architecture team, and after two years I was also appointed deputy head of department. For a short time now, I have been allowed to lead the Architecture and Innovation team. Together with my team, I support the development of the Enterprise Architecture Management domain and the transformation of the IT landscape within Vienna Insurance Group.
