The Vienna Insurance Group in the Czech Republic: Kooperativa is one of the country's top 5 companies again
In the ranking of the "100 best Czech businesses", Kooperativa, the leading Vienna Insurance Group company in the Czech Republic achieved the excellent fourth place. In the "Financial Services" category the insurer came top, achieving first place, an outstanding result. This means Kooperativa is continuing to maintain the very good ratings achieved in recent years and is strengthening its position as a major player in the Czech economy.
The aim of the "Top 100" ranking is to create a national benchmark for economic success criteria. The panel of experts rated management and executives in the nominated companies, which hailed from a wide variety of sectors. Factors such as the management's experience, personal network and extraordinary results in recent years, were crucial in the rating process.

Top position in the Czech Republic
Kooperativa is number 2 in the Czech insurance market and, as a composite insurer, offers high-quality insurance solutions in the life and non-life segments. It is the largest Vienna Insurance Group company outside Austria and achieved premiums of around EUR 849 million in the first three quarters of 2011.
With its three group companies Kooperativa, PČS and ČPP Vienna Insurance Group has a very strong position in its core market Czech Republic. In the first nine months of 2011, the Group generated premiums written (consolidated) of EUR 1.4 billion in the Czech Republic, which represents a significant increase of 8.9 percent. At the same time, it was interesting to note that growth in the life insurance segment was 17.4 percent.
