- Strategic goal of the department
This department manages the VIG Group in a target-oriented manner and prepares actuarial valuations that support corporate management. This is done in the interests of our customers and investors and to fulfil regulatory requirements. - Core tasks:
- Preparation of profitability analyses, standard reports, key figures and plan/actual variance analyses as well as the assessment and evaluation of risks
- Market-consistent valuation of liabilities, taking into account Solvency II and IFRS 17 requirements
- Performing the actuarial function in accordance with Solvency II
- Formulating best practice standards for the actuarial teams in our group of companies
- Performance monitoring of the local Group companies
- Organisation of the planning process for the insurance companies and VIG Holding
- Supporting the Managing Board in the operational management of the local Group companies
- Improving data quality
- Daily Business:
- Valuation of insurance portfolios
- Coordination of co-operation within VIG
- Preparation of meaningful documents for planning and forecasts for the insurance companies and the entire VIG Group
- Periodic analyses of the VIG insurance companies with regard to their overall development
- Coordination of data and content with areas of VIG Holding
- Preparation of market reports
Key Qualifications
For activities in the field of mathematics:
- Mathematical studies
- Knowledge of insurance and financial mathematics
- Experience with modelling in Prophet, ResQ or comparable modelling tools
For activities in the field of controlling:
- Business degree
- Professional experience in the insurance and/or finance sector is an advantage
In general:
- Very good knowledge of Excel
- SAP and PowerBI knowledge an advantage
- Understanding of IT
- Team and communication skills
- Entrepreneurial thinking, analytical understanding and high affinity for numbers
- Commitment, flexibility and ability to work under pressure
- Accurate way of working and sense of responsibility
- Very good written and spoken English
- German language skills are an advantage
- Experience in CEE countries and knowledge of an Eastern European language an advantage
